The SmartLine batch washers from Vega Systems continues to find new homes and new applications all around the world, as customers discover the benefits of our washing technologies. Vega Systems just recently held our regular Open House event in Oss, Netherlands; giving customers the opportunity to talk to the team about the unique features on the SmartLine batch washer and the continuous development that is taking place in Germany.
STRONG BASIS
Development has taken the SmartLine range up to 120kg batch size with a 2 meter inner drum diameter for the largest producers. Our largest machines still retain all of the features that established the SmartLine in the first place such as:-
- High mechanical washing action and a huge first compartment for effective wetting and mixing of linen and detergents.
- Our circulating steam injection system which creates mixing and turbulence in the wash zone
- Our Lint filter and waterbox system which scours the top surface of the water removing lint and floating debris
- Our full control of all water-flow, recovery systems and storage tanks so that we use the minimum energy, chemicals and water.
- Many other features to improve reliability and serviceability
Even on our largest machines, Vega Systems’ manufacturing process includes a single machining operation to guarantee all the driving, sealing and rotating faces are true, concentric and parallel. This approach to quality continues throughout all our manufacturing facilities in Germany and overseas.
Our batch washer is now running in specialised HealthCare applications and other hygienic processes; where strict controls govern the temperature, chemistry and proof of process. Our circulating steam injection system means we measure the ‘real’ temperature of the wash liquor, our temperature sensor is not influenced by the heat source. We can easily incorporate independent machine validation systems as well, if required by virtue of the Vega heating system.

Vega Systems manufacture a complete range of washing systems from 25kg batches right up to 120kg in any configuration. The range includes a full range of high performance gas and steam heated system dryers, high speed shuttles and logistics to complement the batch washer. Despite their high output and evaporative power, the dryers can include various energy saving options.
Variable speed fans, variable heat recovery and variable speed drums make sure that our dryers regulate the ideal conditions inside the drum for every part of the cycle. The fan motor and the large volume lint filter is built under the frame of the dryer in an ideal position for service and access. The unique design of our dryers allows us to place machines very close against each other; this way we can achieve some very compact layouts.
In combination with the SmartLine and the high-powered SmartPress; Vegas’ system dryers complete an impressive line-up.
VEGA SYSTEMS UK
The second of two 60kg x 15 compartment SmartLine washing tunnels recently installed and commissioned by Vega Systems UK as part of a major refurbishment of Celtic Linen’s Drinagh factory in Wexford.
Our SmartLine systems are in use in some of the hardest working laundries, demonstrating their reliability day after day. Support on software and controls can be provided by a dedicated online connection to Germany; to provide diagnostics and keep systems running. Vega UK have a team of regional engineers ready to respond in the event that there’s a problem. Vega Germany have also built up a large service and support facility in Badem, if it is necessary, they are always available to support Vega Systems UK and our UK and Ireland base. “Service is the next sale”; service and the availability of parts is key to protecting the growth of our Vega brand around the world.
From a very hot and dry Las Vegas, another Busy and Successful Clean Show 2017 has come and gone.
VEGA Systems, together with our USA partner, Ellis Corporation, would like to offer our sincere appreciation and thanks, to all who traveled from near and far, for taking the time to visit our booths.
Over the four days of the Clean Show 2017, Las Vegas, a steady flow of clients, new and old, visited our booths. New partnerships were formed, old partner ships strengthened and many orders placed.
Much interest was expressed on Vega Systems new innovations, offering clients Space Saving and Efficiency Improvement solutions, for all areas of the laundry. These included specifically;
- Vegafold-S (a sheet folder with 4 sorting stackers integrated in the machine)
- VegaRoll Gas ironer (and Steam, although not displayed)
- Vegafeed-CL3 (edge feeder; the newest addition to Vega feeder solutions, ideally for high volume hospital sheet work)
Sitting down together with our clients at the booth, sharing experiences and ideas and discussing how we can improve our support and services for greater convenience and satisfaction to our customers was one of the highlights of the show.
Two evenings of “Snacks & Drinks” were held and enjoyed during the show days, where everyone sat down, relaxed and enjoyed each other’s company.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the next event, meanwhile working and ensuring a successful future partnership together.

VEGA Systems are proud to announce that we were part of the Texcare International 2016 in Frankfurt, Germany.
The leading trade fair for this sector became even bigger with 20% more exhibitors and visitors compared with the previous Texcare show. During the five days of exhibition, we had the pleasure to meet people from all over the world at our VEGA booth. Our visitors displayed great curiosity in our latest advancements and were interested in the many machines we showed at our booth.
We arranged a spot for visitors to sit down and relax, as several hours on the exhibition grounds could be tiresome, there we were able to offer them some typical Dutch snacks and drinks.
At the show we demonstrated several washing, drying, feeding, ironing and folding machines, including some brand new machines like the VEGAROLL and the VEGAFOLD-S.
Together with our whole VEGA crew, we strive to achieve a satisfactory level of attention to visitor inquiries and questions; as we were always ready to demonstrate and explain to our visitors the inner workings and procedures of our machines.
After each exhibition day we held a cocktail party and a buffet at our booth, arranged by a local catering service, for visitors whom wished to stay and get to know us better. It was indeed the perfect moment for us to talk with our visitors about their businesses, while at the same time relaxing over a glass of wine, or beer.
By the last day of the exhibition we have had the chance to meet both existing and new customers, and we are glad to say that this exhibition wrapped up successfully.

From the 8 to 10th of October 2015 we invited guests to our annual in-house exhibition at our headquarters in Oss, Netherlands. There, our approximately 500 visitors could see our whole range of products in action, including some new laundry machines and technologies
FROM ALL AROUND THE GLOBE
Vega Systems could welcome approximately 500 visitors and dealers to our in-house exhibition in early October 2015 where we showcased our complete range of products, such as the SmartLine batch washer, SmartDry dryers, SmartPress extraction presses, Vega Feeders, folders, ironers and much more.
We were able to welcome more than 50 laundries from Germany alone, which is an increase by 200 percent compared to last year’s exhibition. In addition, we met visitors who came from USA, Canada, South America, UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Japan, China, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands and Belgium.
BECOMING A REAL ALTERNATIVE
Last October Vega Systems acquired the know-how of German NWT Wäschereitechnik GmbH.
By integrating NWT Wäschereitechnik GmbH and by increasing the number of sales staff in Vega Systems Wash Technology Germany GmbH, we have strengthened our sales and service capabilities considerably in Germany and will continue to expand in the near future in order to establish a serious alternative to the known competitors in the long term.
Looking towards the future, we are pleased with our progress so far and in matters of flatwork machinery we expect to become a real alternative due to the integration of NWT-technology into our Vega machines.
2016 AND BEYOND
Our in-house exhibition is held annually and the schedule for this year (2016) has already been fixed to 6-8 of October.
We will also be exhibiting our technologies at Texcare International this year, so stay tuned for more information as we progress into a new year of prosperity.
